Wondering if anyone has a "system" for these. I have lots of entries, like fifth metacarpal head and fifth metatarsal head. But these are tricky, one has to be careful on expanding the correct one. Then, there's always "first" metacarpal or metatarsal head, too, adding more danger.

I was just thinking that if I were smart, I'd use a differentiating key. Maybe tfmh and cfmh to differentiate between carpal and tarsal. Have to think about first and fifth.

Anyone already have something good for this situation?
Judy
I use mc and mt for metacarpal and metatarsal
mch = metacarpal head etc.
The first and fifth has thrown me. I have it in autocorrect at 1mc and 5cm from the olden days (pre IT) I also have it in IT as mc1 (first metacarpal) and mc5. I am trying to remember that but sometimes my brain refuses to think fast enough backwords. I am getting better at it though since I have degrees and cm. in backwards too. (d10 for 10 degrees and c10 for 10 cm.)

I thought about listing cm. in here because my list isn't complete and I was looking for an incentive to finish it - It hasn't worked - I still haven't finished it.

Holiday time is a messy confusing time at my house. My grandchildren think holiday baking can only be done here. Mom's house is for regular cakes and cookies but grandma's house is for the decorating kind. We did Halloween baking yesterday. It is getting more complicated every year as they get older and want to try more and more things. tehe. Just as I think I am too tired to move and look at the mess my floors are in, they smile that smile or I overhear them talking about how much fun it was and the mess doesn't matter anymore. Not that I am a sentimental old woman or anything. biggrin.gif

Naw, you're not the slightest bit sentimental, Judy, not at all! Ha! Who do you think you're kidding?! lol.gif Sounds just great! Can I pop in for the goodies, too?!

Okay, look. I know the original question was on metacarpal/metatarsal, but I'm intrigued about your degrees and centimeters method. Why have I never thought of that?! That sounds good! I think I'd have to put cm2 or cm7 because it would mess with C2 and C7, etc. otherwise, but I just never thought of that! Nor for degrees! Thanks a lot! I'll definitely experiment with that.

Yes, first, fourth, and fifth are troublesome. Maybe I'll take a variation of your idea and play with that.

Thanks, Judy!
Judy
Give me an hour or so (have some work to finish) and I will post some degrees. Figured that one everybody already had. I have c56, c57 etc. but none that are just one number for cervical. I do measurements of limbs a lot - even more than c-spine so it is worth it to me to get all of them in - if I could just get some time and energy to do it.

Yes, you can come eat some goodies. I always have to keep some from each one. You have to like lots of frosting and colored sugar, tho. Emily (age 2) likes to put lots on. lol.gif The others aren't that far behind, though. We will be baking every Saturday from now on and freezing them for the holidays. You can even come help - at your own risk, of course. I can't guarantee you will leave with your sanity intact.
Judy
Just a quick note to let you know I won't be able to post the list today. Was given a rush job of 6 more tapes.
Harrie
Six tapes and all rush? Geeez, I should say you wouldn't get to post here yesterday! That's fine, Judy, whenever is a good time!
