I'm having a problem. Actually, I'm having several difficulties with Instant Text. I've e-mailed them twice and left a message once and have yet to hear back in about a week, which seems unusual. Here's what's going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. I want the shorts for hyphenated words to act like two words (end-diastolic pressure should be "edp," in other words). I have the "hyphens as separate words" box checked, so when I add new phrases on the fly, it works that way, but when I import a new list, it still comes out as "ep" or "enpr" if I'm using ABAB. How can I convince Instant Text to import hyphenated words the way I want?

2. I've been playing around with using the ABAB method for 2-word phrases; however, when I try to change a glossary from one to the other in the workshop, it only changes some of them, which is of course the worst of all possible worlds because then I don't know which is which. What's going on???

3. I have one glossary that reopens itself when I close it and automatically selects itself. If I leave it open but switch to another glossary, it switches back within seconds. Is there a setting for this somewhere that I can't find?

4. In that same glossary, when closing the glossary page or whatever you call it that shows the Includes list, I get an error message saying "Cannot find" such-and-such other glossary that is in the Includes list even though it is in the glossary file and hasn't moved. This is new as of this evening.

The "hyphens separate words" box is a rule that applies to compilations and when adding new phrases on the fly. When importing, IT takes the first letter of each word, or, if applicable, it will ask you if you want to keep the current abbreviations. Perhaps this is something we can add to the IT wish list.

Which entries were not converted? Can you give us some examples?

Check your link options. If you have a default glossary set in the link options, every time you link to that application, IT will load and highlight that glossary. For instructions on how to set the link options, please see pages 34-35 of the manual.

When you see this error message, this means that the glossary file has been moved from its original location, therefor IT cannot find it to load it. For instructions on how to resolve this issue, please see the link below.
