Expanding longer phrases rather than single words or two-word phrases results in higher keystroke savings.
The articles below are located on the Instant Text site; however, the methods can be used in other expanders.

That is so very true, and I have you wonderful folks to thank for the fact that I am aware of that!!
I am a new grad (last spring) who is fortunate enough to have been hired into a large health care organization. The area I work for handles 3 major hospitals plus a bucket of clinics and specialty facilities. The vast majority of the MTs work from home, with only a few of us in the office--part timers or trainees like myself. My point being, we have a lot of very skilled, very experienced, blazing fast people, but I NEVER SEE THEM!
Your site has been so helpful in showing me the principles of how to set up a great expander system instead of using the (somewhat disorganized and of course incomplete) one in existence. I can't believe the number of times that I've had someone say,"Oh, expanders are just more work, you have to remember all those abbreviations..."!! I just want to shake them and tell them that with a bit of effort and organization (things that MTs are supposed to be good at, right?) they could accomplish SO MUCH MORE in the same time.
Anyway, rant, rave, etc...I just want to say thanks to all here at this board for really lighting a fire under this newbie!

Beth, you made my day! You really did! Thank you so much!
I'm glad the board has been helpful to you! Yes, I know people who also think expanders are just work.......wow! Sure they're work, work to get them together the best way you can, and then comes - payoff time!
The idea of this board really is for all of us to light a fire underneath each other! If you have anything specific you'd ever like discussed, please post about it!
Welcome to Productivity Talk!

Well, I'm sure it's a lot of work for you to post all this info--especially when I know just how much I feel like typing ONE MORE THING at the end of the day myself...! I imagine there are more like myself, lurking in the weeds and sucking up information into our already-full heads!
Thanks again.
