I generally find it very workable to just, again, start with a, then the first three letters of the root word, and the last letter of the word. Here are some examples:
ahype = antihypertensive
apsyc = antipsychotic
aemec = antiemetic
abody = antibody
abods = antibodies

System? We're supposed to have a system?? So that's where I go wrong.
I have:
anb = antibiotic
anbc = antibiotic course
anbs = antibiotics
adep = antidepressant
adeps = antidepressants
ai = anti-inflamatory
ais = anit-inflamatories

rides off to copy most of Harrie's post, like usual.

You crack me up, Georg! Yes, systems. Definite systems! But, to each his own system, a wonderful thing!
This one, though, I just find so helpful. I've expanded that to use with most con words, dys words, re words, and more. It's all thanks to Jon Knowles for starting me off on it through ABCZ, frankly!

Also,
abios - antibiotics
ainfs - antiinflammatories

Gotta have a system. I have 2 different computers, and I just finished re-doing the Autocorrect for both of them to match my system. Found that the one computer had shortcuts done before I had a system and...no wonder I couldn't remember them! I have 500 on one computer and 350 or so on another. Now they match and I won't have to do THAT again! (re-doing them all, one by one...or nearly all...)

I know how that is- I have some different shorts on my second pute... but I don't work there.
I have so many of Harrie's shorts, I think she could work on my work pute though.

LOL, Georg! How do you find they work out with your particular expander, okay?
I too have different sets on different computers. A lot of the same, but many different, and because of the order of things, certain ones come up in different positions on each computer! Gotta watch it when I do that occasional switch!

I have to go through and edit for duplicates every now and then, but otherwise it all works ok. The hard part is, as always, is remembering them.
