Full Version: Control keys not working in CS

Any suggestions out there why the control keys in CS will not work? I used to have Dictaphone Extext but removed it (uninstalled it) and actually reinstalled Word also. They still do not work. I have tried a new keyboard and that did not help either. Maybe there is some .dll file still in there or macros that did not get removed? Any help here would be appreciated.

Hey, sawynn. Welcome!

With your NumLock key on, try going to Word in ChartScript, and hit Alt + Ctrl + the Numberpad Plus sign key ; the cursor will become a clover. Then, hit the shortcut key Ctrl + J. Does a command show up there, the one that ChartScript is supposed to have?

As you can see I don't have an answer for you, but the above is just to help troubleshoot. You might also try going to the Tools>Macro menu. I no longer use CS and can't remember details, but I know that a lot of SoftMed/ChartScript items used to show up there. You might also check out what you see in All Commands

I'm having the same problem. None of the Ctrl combinations work (Ctrl S, Ctrl D), etc. I'm brand new to CS. Did anyone ever find the solution to this? Thanks!

I would suggest you to reset your Macros keyboard shortcuts. To do that, make sure you are logged into CS, then go to Tools-Customize-Keyboard, under Categories, select Macros, then on the right for Macros, choose CTLRS and assign a new shortcut key by placing your cursor on "Press new shortcut key" files and press CTRL-S. Do the same for any other CTRL keys that you have missing. Good Luck.

I have been told that CS works better with Internet Explorer 6, that if you Explorer 7 which most of us do, some of the control keys do not work. I was told to uninstall 7 from the control panel, then your system should default to 6. But ask someone in your system first!
