.......different system for the same group of words, or have an idea, post it! puter.gif

How many times do we type cardiologist, gastroenterologist, psychiatrist, orthopedist, ophthalmologist, pulmonologist, etc?

Well, for the multitude of these, the first three letters and a "t" at the end has been very, very helpful for me. Very. So, I recommend it to anyone!

Example: gast = gastroenterologist

PS: Thanks to the person I got this idea from, unknown unfortunately!

Jon Knowles' ABCZ rules is a great place to learn how to develop a system of your own.

ABCZ can be modified for use with any expander, depending on what the expander allows or doesn't allow.

And Mike Deturi's ABCreate program does a fantastic job of harvesting word lists and creating abbreviations for you!

Allows you to abbreviate words by choosing the beginning and ending letters that work best for your personal tastes. With 3 beginning letters and 2 ending letters "choledochocystectomy" would condense to an abbreviation of "chomy."
