I hope this is the correct place to post this ....

Other than a keyboard macro, is there an easier way to automatically format subscripts? Such as when transcribing cardiology S1 and S2 .. or V1 or V2 ... etc.??

I find it a nusiance to highlight and format ... AutoCorrect does not carry the subscript format.

In Word, you can get a subscript by pressing CTRL =

You would type S CTRL= 2 (without the space) and then CTRL= (again without a space) to turn the subscript off, to get S(subscript 2). If you are using an expander other than AutoCorrect, you can code this into your expander so that something like, for instance, s2h would get you the S(subscript2) and return to the normal line.

Also, if you highlight your subscripted entry first and then go to AutoCorrect, and click off the formatted text radio button, it should actually keep the entry.

THAT's what I was hoping for ... thank you!
