Hi SmarType users. I am an MT newbie and new to Smartype. I just purchased a new laptop and was wondering if there is an easy way to install all my personal shortcuts from my pc to my notebook or will I have to rebuild my whole list again (even though I am a newbie and my list is not very extensive yet, lol) confused.gif

Also, is there a way to change the font you have saved your smartblocks in without manually deleting and re-adding them in the preferred font?

Thanks so much for any help you might have for me! thanks.png

I know this is a really old post, but thought I would post in case someone was interested in knowing this information:

This can also apply to creating a backup of your vocabulary:

You will need to copy the following files to a floppy or a CD: Smartype Vocab.vcb - this is the main vocabulary file included with the Stedmans Smartype, and contains any SmartWords and SmartPHrases you have added ,as well as any modifications you have made to the excisting SmartWords and SmartPhrasses. The default location for this file is C:|program files\stedman's smartype.

all .doc files found in C:\program files\stedman's smartype\blocks\ - these contain your smartblocks.

normal.dot - this file is MS Word's global template file and contains your smartmacros. To locate this file on your computer, select search from the start menu in Windows, and click on "for files or folders."

When you go to reinstall the original CD to your new computer, reinsert these files you just saved into the new computer at the same location. This should convert everything over without losing anything.
